Designing AI native workflows for the future of collaboration
Exploring how product design, AI, and real time collaboration converge to shape the next generation of design tools.
About My Work

I'm izaias, a product designer with over 8 years of experience designing UX and UI for complex software products. My work focuses on emerging technologies, particularly AI and machine learning, where I transform ambiguous problems into clear, intuitive experiences that balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
Throughout my career, I've specialized in building AI powered interfaces, design systems, and real time collaboration workflows. I thrive in the space where high quality craft meets cutting edge technology, turning complexity into clarity through prototyping, user research, and close collaboration with cross functional teams.
My approach centers on designing experiences that feel natural and intuitive, whether I'm brainstorming new concepts, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI to refine product features. I believe the best design work happens when we deeply understand both the user's mental model and the technical possibilities of what we're building.
Shaping AI native workflows
The future of design tools lies in AI powered collaboration. I design workflows that help teams move from idea to product faster, enabling real time collaboration across distributed teams. This means creating and iterating on flows, prototypes, and high fidelity visuals specifically for AI features, interfaces that understand context, anticipate needs, and augment human creativity rather than replace it.
My work involves identifying new AI opportunities early, conducting evaluations for AI product ideas, and prototyping to refine nuanced design decisions before engineering begins. I have a technical understanding of complex AI technologies, which allows me to grasp what's possible and guide teams through the ambiguity of building novel AI experiences.
User centered research in AI is critical. I integrate findings from discovery through launch to ensure AI features genuinely serve user goals. Whether designing scalable design systems that accommodate AI generated content or crafting micro interactions for machine learning outputs, I focus on maintaining quality and consistency across all AI features.
I approach AI native product design as an opportunity to fundamentally reimagine how teams express ideas, share work, and design together. This requires comfort with ambiguity and designing in rapidly evolving, uncertain environments, something I've done throughout my career working with emerging technologies.
Selected Work
AI Powered Design Assistant for Enterprise Workflows
Led design efforts for an AI initiative that helped enterprise teams streamline their design to development handoff. Working cross functionally with product management, engineering, design, and research peers, I identified an opportunity to use ML to automatically generate component documentation and design specs.
I independently drove the design process from discovery through launch, creating prototypes that explored different AI interaction patterns. Through structured thinking and clearly articulated rationale, I guided decision making across multiple teams, ensuring we balanced user needs with technical feasibility. The result was a 40% reduction in handoff time and significantly improved design engineering collaboration.
Impact: Cross functional collaboration with 3 engineering teams, integrated user research insights from 25+ interviews, and established design patterns now used across the platform.
Real Time Collaboration Tools with AI Suggestions
Designed a real time collaboration system that uses AI to provide contextual suggestions while teams work together. This required prototyping new AI opportunities and ensuring quality and consistency across features that needed to feel magical yet predictable.
I created high fidelity visuals and interactive prototypes that helped engineering partners understand the nuanced design decisions, from timing and animation to feedback patterns. The technical understanding I developed of the underlying ML models allowed me to design experiences that worked within system constraints while pushing the boundaries of what felt possible.
Impact: Facilitated alignment across 4 product teams, shipped to 100K+ users, and established design system components for AI suggested content that scaled to 8 additional features.
Scalable Design System for AI Generated Content
Built a comprehensive design system specifically for displaying, editing, and managing AI generated content across multiple product surfaces. This involved figuring out ambiguous problems, like how to show provenance, confidence levels, and edit history, and shaping them into clear goals.
Through engineering partnerships and close collaboration with the ML team, I designed components that could handle the unpredictability of AI outputs while maintaining high quality craft. The system included guidelines for visual interaction design, micro animations, and error states that respected user expectations.
Impact: Enabled 6 product teams to ship AI features 2x faster, reduced design debt, and created a unified vision for how AI content appears throughout the product experience.
Craft & Detail
I have a passion for high quality visuals, interaction design, and UI details. Every pixel matters, not because of perfectionism, but because thoughtful craft creates trust and delight. I have fluency in prototyping tools and code, which allows me to express and refine nuanced design decisions through working prototypes rather than static mockups.
My eye for visual interaction design comes from years of studying how interfaces feel, not just how they look. I obsess over timing curves, transition states, and the micro moments that make software feel alive and responsive. This attention to craft in UX/UI has been essential in designing AI features, where users need clear feedback about what's happening, why, and what they can do next.
I approach ambiguous problems by breaking them down into their essential components, then building simple, novel solutions that elegantly solve for multiple constraints at once. Whether it's designing a new interaction pattern for AI suggestions or creating a layout system that adapts to unpredictable content, I balance sophistication with simplicity.
Collaboration & Mentorship
Great product design happens through collaboration. I work closely with PMs to understand strategic goals, with engineers to understand technical constraints and possibilities, and with researchers to ensure our designs are grounded in user needs. I facilitate alignment across teams by connecting different perspectives and building a unified vision that everyone can rally behind.
Throughout my career, I've collaborated on design initiatives that required coordination across multiple teams and time zones. I've learned to be a bridge, translating between technical and non technical stakeholders, advocating for users while respecting business priorities, and pushing for quality without letting perfect be the enemy of good.
I'm also committed to scaling design teams through mentorship. I've mentored junior and early career designers on everything from foundational design skills to navigating ambiguity in AI product development. Teaching helps me refine my own thinking and ensures we're building design leadership that will shape the future of our industry.
Impact driven design requires building relationships, fostering trust, and creating environments where the best ideas can emerge, regardless of who suggests them. I believe in inclusive design processes that bring diverse perspectives to the table, resulting in products that work for more people.
"I believe AI native product design is not just about features. It's about creating clarity, empowering collaboration, and enabling teams to move faster and design together in ways that feel natural, intuitive, and inspiring."
